Adjustable gastric band surgery, also known as Lap-Band surgery, involves placing a silicone band around the upper part of the stomach to create a small pouch. This band slows the entry of food into the stomach, making you feel full with smaller portions. The band’s tightness can be adjusted over time using saline injections via a port implanted under your skin, allowing for customizable weight loss.
During the surgery, a minimally invasive laparoscopic technique is used to place an adjustable silicone band around the upper stomach, creating a small pouch. This band is fully adjustable post-surgery, allowing for tailored weight loss progress via saline injections through a subcutaneous port.
Physical Activity:
Light walking is encouraged from Day 1 post-surgery; however, strenuous exercise should be avoided for 4–6 weeks to promote healing.
